My Sadness on the Bus

I get the bus everyday,
But I wish I was walking today.
I see the birds from the window,
As happy as one could be,
But I look on with sadness.

I see the flowers and the leaves,
Swaying in the beautiful wind.
Blue, pink, yellow and white flowers
It’s amazing,
But I look on with sadness.

I see the other children,
Running with each other having fun.
They play games like tip and hide n’ seek
But I look on with sadness.

A Walk to School

As I leave the house a breeze hits me.
I start to walk and see the oak tree.
I walk towards and past the old house.
No one is there, not even a mouse

I get closer to the road and start to hear,
Horns and engines ringing in my ear.
All sorts of smells go past my nose,
Gas and fuel and smoke I suppose.

I’m almost at school, a small way to go
I see a few people crossing the road.
I follow along, tugging my feet,
It’s very busy here on the street.

I’m at school now, there with my friends.
Now this is where my story ends

As I Walked to School

As I walked to school, I felt the breeze,
I watched the wind blow the leaves on the trees.
I looked around my beautiful town,

I saw the customers of the café sitting down.
No cars, no trucks, no lorries, no vans,
No plastic, no glass, or aluminium cans.
I watched a group of cyclists go by,
I saw an elderly woman struggle in the corner of my eye.

I went over to the old woman and helped her across the street,
I walked with her as she stumbled on her feet,
She said goodbye, but I didn’t reply, I was too shy.
Seeing everyone walking to school was a wonderful sight,
Everyone being so nice to each other and being so polite.

The sky is blue no smoke or black clouds,
Global Warming is gone there is nothing to worry about.
But then I woke up it was all a dream,
The future I imagine is not what it seems.

Going to School

When I walk to school,
I feel a fresh breeze hit my face.
 I walk through the grass,
As my feet collect the dew.
As I walk across the bridge,
I hear the water splash.

The trees in the distance make music to my ears
The winds pass.
The birds fly past,
Humming my favourite tune.
Nothing is more special,
Than walking to school.

It will Get Better

I am a bird,
I fly through the air,
I fly so high.
I watch the people,
They seem so happy,

‘til I reach the town,
The air seemed heavy,

Factories working,
My wings felt tired,
The buildings black from the smoke,

I am a bird.

I am a fox,
I am just a cub,

My mother goes hunting,
I stay in the cave,
A weird plastic bag flies by,

I wonder where my mother is,
Is she alright?
I peek out of the cave.
I see bottles of all kind.
Packets on the ground,
Everything’s filthy.
I am a fox

I am a sea turtle,
I swim far,
My shell a teal green,
I swim through rocks,
What’s that I see?
A plastic bag coming at me,
Somebody let me free.
Please come help me,

I struggle,
I am a sea turtle.

Humans need to act now.
Before it gets bad,
Animals are dying,

Only a few people are helping.
All of this started around the 1830’s

Pick up your trash,
And try to help.
So in the end,
We can promise animals even
If they don’t understand,

That it will get better
Our world will be back.
If we try hard enough. >:D

On my Way to School

I usually walk to school
Every single day.
The fresh breeze on my face
It is just a casual day

I walk through the fields
Feeling all the dew.
I'd better be carful
I don’t step in cattle poo.

Finally at the school
My destination has been reached.
I’d better put my shoes on
Instead of going in with wet feet.

The School Journey

I am a starling and I fly high
I like to watch the school children go by.
One morning I was on my way
When I saw some smoke from far away
It was from that new factory
I saw a lot of them recently.

As I flew closer to the source of the smoke
I had to land as I started to choke
“Help me please!” I said to any birds near
But I wasn’t sure if anyone could hear

I woke up to the sound of a thrush
And a blackbird sitting casually on a bush
“What happened?” I asked, very confused
“You were out for the count” said the thrush
“You poor little thing”

The Toad

I walk across the road.
I see a toad.
It’s in the drain.
It’s starting to rain.
I gave him a name.
I called him Zane.
Everyday, he wanted to play.
After a while, I assumed he was a stray.

A week after, I met a dog.
I liked it, but I knew a toad was better.
I went back to the drain, to find Zane.
Because I felt bad,
I said sorry and said he was a good lad.

After school, I took him home.
So he wouldn’t feel alone.
Just so you know, he can walk and talk.
He can write with chalk.
He’s better than a dog.

Like I said, he’s better than a dog, he is a God.
He loves to sleep in his favourite log.
And then he got eaten by a dog.

     When I Walk To School

When I walk along the path
I see all the trees
 A hive and honey
With all the bees

I walk to the traffic lights
Look left and right
I cross the road
When there’s no car in sight

When I walk along the path
I see some traffic
With all the beeps
Some noise and racket

I’m nearly at school
With excitement in me
It feels like,
Honey with sugar in tea

Now I’m at school
I feel really good
So next time you go to school
Should you walk?

You should.

On my Way to School

I leave my house at 8:00
As I run up my driveway
Listening to the sound of the trees
Branches in the wind.

But then as I get closer to the city
The noise of the cars, what a pity
I don’t see as many cars as I used to
All the factories and buildings
I take a deep breath
Only to smell all the smoke and gas.

As I open the school gate
I see the kids fighting over all the balls n’ chalk
I say to myself I wish that
It would be back how it was.

Walking to School

Walking is fun.
Pity I can’t.
Always in the backseat, thinking,
Life outside the car, people chatting, laughing
Knowing I’d love to join them
I wish I could join them
Now is my chance
Getting out of the car.

Tomorrow I’ll walk the whole way to school
Oh I can’t wait

Stepping out the door
Cold out, but fine
How I can’t wait to start walking
Only yesterday I was in the car
Only yesterday I walked to school for the first time
Looking out at everyone.
Now they’re looking at me

Walking To School

Watching kids having the time of their lives,
Making snow angels,
Sledging, and even tumbling down the frosty mountain.

I felt as if I was a snowman,
Stood in front of the sun,
Melting away, and nobody noticed.
Being cramped into the backseat,
Where there was barely any space to breathe,

It was not what I wanted,
Fresh air and a social life,
Is really what I want

Walking To School

I walked to school every day,
I never sat in a car, I never rode a motorbike,
I never saw a traffic light
I am now at the ripe old age of sixty-three,
And have a bad knee

I now sit in my cottage alone,
And watch the sleepy children,
Whizz by in their parents' cars, slumped in the backseat,
For every fifty cars there are two cyclists,
For every two cyclists there is only one lonely person on foot

I try to imagine walking to school again with my best friends,
It was a lovely life,
No cars, no noisy lawnmowers, both pumping out smoke,
Just me and my friends, not a care in the world,
I hear ambulances and fire engines and police cars,
Maybe if people got some fresh air,
They might be happy not angry,
I do not know what the future holds,
I will be gone.

Maybe if people walked to school,
We would be happier and jollier,

But do not mind me I am just a boring old lady,
That knows nothing about WhatsApp and Instagram,

Maybe if we say
 “Hey Siri? Fix the world”
 He might just respond….

Walking to School - in 2030

I walk to school every day,
No one else does,
‘It’s too dangerous’ they say.
The air feels so dark,
It reminds me of coal,
All the carbon,
Seeping into my soul...

Walking to school,
Oh, it used to be fantastic,
But now, our world is getting worse,
With all the plastic...

I tried to tell them,
That we we’re ruining our planet,
They just don’t listen,
Saving the world,
Was never a panic...

Now look at us,
One by one,
The plastic bottles get thrown into the river.
Day by day,
The ozone layer becomes less and less.
Year by year,
The temperature gets hotter.
And bit by bit,
We are ruining a planet that we call ‘home’...

MY WALK TO SCHOOL by e.l.

At the time i was when i felt alive and on the walk to school

It was a normal day i found a dog i had a race then hit a log

It started to rain i hit a drain then i went the main way

I kick a ball hop over a wall then I’m nearly in the hall

I see a fence, run and miss, do i have any sense

I see a can, kick it. It hits a man i run as fast as i can

Then i need the loo and i step on dog poo

I race to the gate i know I’m late

I slip and flip in a puddle and everyone lets out a chuckle   [:
