Is muidne baill de Bord Bainistíochta, Foireann agus Tuismitheoirí Scoil Raifteirí atá ag tacú le Gaeilge le chéile ar son oideachas ár daltaí óga ina iomláine.
Is bun scoil lán-Ghaelach í Scoil Raifteirí atá suite ar shuíomh bhuan Fhaiche an Aonaigh, i gCaisleán an Bharraigh, i gCo. Mhaigh Eo, a fheidhmíonn faoi rialacha an Roinn Oideachais agus Scileanna agus Bunreacht Scoil Raifteirí. Sa Ghaelscoil seo ina bhfuil éiteas Chaitileach faoi Phatrún an Easpaig, an Dr. Mícheál Ó Náraigh atá oideachas den chéad scoth curtha ar fáil do bhuachaillí agus cailíní óga.  Bunaíodh an scoil sa bhliain 1983 sa sean scoil de cuid Eaglais na hÉireann, áit a bhfuil Leabharlann Uí Mháille suite inniu.  Ceannaíodh an suíomh le seacht seomraí réamhdhéanta sa bhliain 1989 agus osclaíodh an forgnimh buan sa bhliain 1999.
Ofráltar gach ábhar ar an gCuraclam Bunscoile Nua Leasaithe (2000) do na daltaí le freastal éifeachtiúil ar riachtanais scoile agus aonarach na páistí scoile faoi stiúr an fhoireann teagaisc spreagúil le tacaíocht na dtuismitheoirí. Cothaítear meas agus dílseacht ar thraidisiún, ar chreideamh agus ar oidhreacht  Ghaelach. Spreagtar dul chun chinn agus misneach i ngach dalta san fhoghlaim ghníomhach atá curtha ar fáil le na modhanna múinte, acmhainní agus fearas den scoth. Castar le na páistí go féaráilte agus go hionraic sa chaoi go spreagtar meas agus grá sna páistí dá baile féin, don scoil, don oideachas, do mhúinteoirí agus dá gcáirde. Táimid mar phobal scoile ag tacú agus ag foghlaim le chéile  i gcónaí chun na spriocanna is aoirde a bhaint amach.

Fís na Scoile:
Is scoil Lán-Ghaelach í Scoil Raifteirí. Ó gheata na scoile isteach, labhrófar an Ghaeilge i gconaí agus béimid uilig dílís agus brodúil asti.  Cothaífear suim, dílseacht agus líofacht sa Ghaeilge faoi stiúradh na n-oidí.  Beidh atmasféar Ghaelach le bhraith ón bhfoireann.  Beidh teagasc ina mbeidh grá don Ghaeilge le feiceáil á leathnú amach agus á scaipeadh sa chaoi go labhrófar an teanga go líofa nadúrtha le múinteoirí, le tuismitheoirí, le cairde agus le cuairteoirí uilig na scoile.  Beidh an-mheas agus tuiscint ag páistí na scoile ar chultúr agus oidhreacht saibhir Gaelach ár shinsir, sna rincí, ceol Ghaelach, drámaíocht, scéalaíocht, ealaín, filíocht agus amhránaíocht na tíre seo. 

 

School Vision:
Scoil Raifteirí is an All-Irish Primary School. From the time a pupil enters the school gate, until he leaves the school property the Irish language will be spoken proudly and loyally at all times.  Language fluency combined with a keen interest to utilise and improve learning for all pupils will be fostered under the guidance of our committed teaching staff.  An Irish atmosphere will be nurtured and encouraged by the staff and will flourish naturally in our school.  The love of the Irish language and all things Irish will be fostered and encouraged, so that  it flows naturally from pupils to teaching staff, parents, friends and visitors to our school.  The pupils of Scoil Raifteirí will have a great understanding, respect and regard for Irish culture and the rich heritage of our ancestors, through active participation in dance, music, history, drama, stories, folklore, legends, art, poetry and the songs of our country.

Is bunscoil í Scoil Raifteirí a fheidhmíonn go hiomlán faoi Rialacha na Roinne Oideachais, faoi stiúr an Bord Bainistíochta.  Is é a Ghrásta Ardeaspag Thuama patrún na scoile.  Is é príomhchuspóir na scoile oideachas a chur ar fáil trí Ghaeilge do pháistí bunscoile.  Tá an scoil suite i bhFaiche an Aonaigh, i gcroíláir an bhaile.
Scoil Raifteirí is a primary school that operates under the Rules and Procedures of the Department of Education and Skills, under the direction of the Board of Management. His Grace, Archbishop Michael Neary is the patron of the school. The primary objective of the school is to provide an education through the medium of the Irish language to primary school children.  The school is located in Fairgreen,  in the heart of Castlebar.

 

Is  Scoil Chaitliceach í Scoil Raifteirí atá bunaithe le cead an Aire Oideachais agus Scileanna. Tá na haidhmeanna ann do fhorbairt phearsantacht an pháiste go hiomlán ó thaobh :  intleacht, fisiciúileacht, cultúir, móráltacht, spioradáltacht, chomh maith le gaol le Dia agus le daoine eile a fhorbairt.  Múnlaíonn agus cothaíonn an scoil saol maith tré creideamh i nDia, bás agus aiséirí Íosa Críost. Cuirtear oideachas Reiligiúnda ar fáil sa scoil Chaitliceach seo do dhaltaí de réir traidísiúin, cleachtadh agus múineadh na hEaglaise Naofa Chaitliceach, agus mar gheall ar seo go forbraífear na bpáistí sa Chreideamh Chaitliceach.
Scoil Raifteirí is a Catholic school that was founded with the permission of the Minister for Education.  The primary objectives are the full development of personality of the child with regard to: intellect, physical, culture, moral, spiritual, as well as growing and nurturing a positive relationship with God, parents, family and with all people.  The school fosters and encourages the good life for all through faith and belief in God, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Religious education is provided in this Catholic school for children according to tradition, practice and the teaching of Holy Catholic Church, and because of this the children develop the Catholic faith.

What is a Gaelscoil?

· A Gaelscoil is a national primary school with full Department of Education recognition.
· All subjects are taught in accordance with the rules of the Department.
· The Gaelscoil is a public school recognised, subsidised and inspected by the Department.
· Co-educational schooling allows children to be educated in a more natural environment.
· There are 19,000 pupils in 101 schools, employing over 700 teachers in Gaelscoileanna outside the Gaeltacht regions.
· In Mayo we now have four Gaelscoileanna.
